So after a successful weekend going to Glen Ellis Family Campground and Storyland with my parents, we opted to do it again with Byronn, Ali, and their two kids. Brooke and I and the boys arrived early Friday afternoon, and spent that time roaming the playground, lawn, and game room the campground has. The rest of the group arrived that evening, and we all had dinner that night around the campfire before retreating to bed. The next morning brought chilly, wet weather, so we divided and conquered. Byronn and I took the older kids, Hunter & Olivia, to Storyland for the morning while Brooke and Ali brought the young'n's, Max and Nora, outlet shopping. None of us let the rain hamper our spirits or sense of adventure that day, yet the forecast certainly changed our plans for Sunday. Byronn and Ali and the girls ended up driving home Saturday evening due to the impending soaking rain. Brooke and I decided to stay, so we secured everything in our camper and then drove 20-plus foliage-filled miles to one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Fabyan's, for dinner. We all had a great meal, and the boys were well-behaved, and retreated to the comfy confines of our camper for a movie (thank you, Netflix!). Sunday morning was as wet as the forecast said, so we quickly packed up the camper and headed south to home, where I had to open the camper up all over again to let it dry out. Another great weekend in the books with out camper, but I have a feeling 2015 will call for an upgrade.
