With our "Men's Weekend" back in action, the four of us (Phil, myself, Ben and Marc) headed back to the Cape for more fishing and debauchery. We decided to add golf to the mix, much to my satisfaction, and had our plans ready. We started off Saturday morning back at the Bass River, the same location from 2008's trip, and starting getting bites and hits rather early. We each bagged a few schoolies as the tide ran out before we called it a morning and headed back for some brunch before our afternoon tee time. Our 18 holes of golf at Bayberry Hills Golf Course was a tense match heading to the back nine, but the formidable duo of myself and Ben proved too much for Phil & Marc to handle. Factor in the 3am wake-up call and large stacks of pancakes consumed at breakfast after fishing, and it's a miracle we even played all 18 holes. We were certainly too tired for a 19th hole, so we headed back to the hotel to shower up before dinner. We woke up Sunday at a more reasonable hour and headed back out to Monomoy where we worked the few miles of surf for a few hours, rather unsuccessfully. One our way home we took one more detour, and fished the jetties in Sandwich for an hour or two before hopping in the car and returning home to our lovely brides. This would be my last year borrowing gear (waders, rod, reel, lures, you get the idea), so 2010's fishing excursions plan to be much more successful and pleasurable.
